Paris Tango | Le Consulat

Patricio Bonfiglio & El Sindicato Milonguero

NEW ALBUM: Tango Movimiento

I was invited to document the atmosphere of this Paris tango concert as the official event photographer, and it was a great experience to be part of it from behind the lens. Le Consulat is an amazing venue in it’s own rite, offering a range of diverse possibilities to capture the essence of the evening.

My role was to capture the real moments of the night — the concentration of the musicians on stage, the reactions from the audience, and the overall energy of the room. From close-up shots to wider frames, the goal was to visually tell the story of the concert.

Being trusted to capture the essence of a live performance like this in Paris is always an honor. Moments like these — spontaneous, expressive, and full of character — are exactly why I love working as an event photographer.

One night of Tango in Le Consulat

Tango Movimiento.
A contemporary take on the traditional culture

A particular tango concert took place in Paris in the 20eme arrondissement this week, drawing around 200 people to Le Consulat for an evening of live music and album promotion. followed by a milonga. The event featured Argentine bandoneon player Patricio Bonfiglio and his band El Sindicato Milonguero.

The concert was part of the band’s promotion for the new album, Tango Movimiento, which focuses on a modern take on traditional tango. During the show, they also performed the two singles they are currently promoting: Milonga Sudaka and Suspiro Suburbano. “Milonga Sudaka” brought strong rhythms and energy to the room, while “Suspiro Suburbano” offered a slower, more reflective moment in the set.

This Paris tango concert showed how active and engaged the tango scene remains in the city. By presenting new material alongside their signature sound, Patricio Bonfiglio and El Sindicato Milonguero demonstrated that tango continues to evolve while staying connected to its roots. The strong turnout and warm response from the audience confirmed that there is real interest in live tango performances in Paris today.

The setting of Le Consulat made the evening feel intimate and direct. With the audience close to the musicians, every detail of the arrangements was easy to follow — from the bandoneón lines to the rhythmic drive of the ensemble. The crowd included tango enthusiasts, local music lovers, and members of the Argentine community in Paris.
